Regular and Themed Role Play

Role-play is the most effective way of addressing key workplace issues. It is also the most misunderstood!

Our approach takes away the fear, puts back the fun – and gets great results. It allows people, in a supportive and constructive environment, to see themselves as others see them – and to learn valuable lessons on how they might change.

Whatever the issues that need addressing, we will devise scenarios and programmes to tackle them head on. The exact format is something we will arrange with you. In some scenarios, it’s best to work with individuals on their own. In others, our actors will begin by demonstrating to everyone how not to do it, then invite feedback and participation to highlight what has gone wrong and how to fix it. We’ll then put people into small groups so that, away from the spotlight, they can apply what they have learned for themselves. Or we’ll get our experienced actors to play out specific situations for you – while receiving regular instructions and suggestions from you and your colleagues.

As well as “regular” role-play, we also use “themed” role-play. In this, we remove people from their usual work concerns and enable them to understand and apply what they learn more freely. The themes vary according to the subject in hand. A session on how to get the most out of meetings, for instance, where everyone is assumed to be part of the Mafia. A session on improving speech and presentation skills where everyone is treated as if they are still at primary school!
